Miss Manners Part Two

One can argue that listening is an important skill.

Even more will argue that at least pretending you are listening is an even more important skill.

And Maile has that one mastered.

This evening, I was telling Mindy a story. Not even sure what that story was. As I'm telling Mindy the story, Maile showed that she was listening by saying "mm-hmm, mm-hmm, yeah...", all while I was still talking.

Whether or not she was really listening, I don't know. Whether or not people are listening when I tell stories, I don't know. But when they respond with an "mm-hmm, mm-hmm, yeah...", just like Maile does, at least it feels like it.

That's funny! I think I do the same thing when the kids tell stories. Sometimes they take so long we find ourselves tuning out and then having to remember what they were saying. Hopefully we catch everything though!!

I am sure Maile was listening, she catches everything!!! Smart little girl!!

What a great blog! She's so much fun and you're right, they learn way too fast and usually when you aren't trying to teach them is when they learn the most. :-)

Reading about Maile strutting around in Mindy's shoes made me smile, Karalee does that with mine. Heels are her favorite by far lol.
