A Very Maile Update

It's really weird now that we're all older, siblings are moving away, getting married, starting college, and you realize how time is really going by fast. It's even weirder when you see Maile pretty much growing right before our very eyes, doing something completely different than the day before, personality really forming, temper starting to appear...and yet you can't help but admire it all!

To simplify it, I felt it would be best to do this in question form.

1. How old is Maile now? A ripe old age of 14 months.

2. How has Maile been now that she can walk? In the three months that she has been walking, that has quickly developed into running, walking backwards, and running backwards.

3. What other physical things does Maile like to show off? Let's see, she likes to dance by getting her booty down low, she likes to climb onto couches, come back down, go back on, spinning herself around, going up the slide, sliding down the slide and landing on her booty, and more...much more. Maile also likes to step on things so that she can elevate herself and get to higher things. She'll step on her wagon, riding toys, regular toys, pillows, books, and anything else that she thinks will make her go higher.

4. What can we expect from Maile that will remind us of Mindy? When Maile gets excited, she develops "crazy legs" just like her mommy. She also runs on her tippy toes, just like mommy.

5. What can we expect from Maile that will remind us of Paolo? Just like daddy, Maile can't stand silence and just has to make noise when no one else is. She will also scream off the top of her lungs just like him in order to get attention.

6. What are Maile's favorite words/phrases? "I want" is a big part of her vocabulary--I want up, I want down, I want eat. She also likes to shrug her shoulders and stick her arms out while asking "where'd he go?" She'll also answer herself by saying "there he is".

7. What kid games does Maile like to play? She likes to play pat-a-cake, where if you ask her, she'll clap her hands, roll her arms, point to you, mark it with a B. She also likes to play itsy bitsy spider. Our personal favorite right now, is she likes to clap her hands mulitple times and chant "Tulo", which is from a local commercial of a local baseball player.

8. What animal sounds has Maile mastered? She knows a duck says "kack", a crab says "hoo" (she has a squeezy toy crab she plays with in the tub that blows air/water), a cat says "mow", a cow says "moo", a dog says "woof", and an elephant says "aarrr" as she lifts her arm up to emulate an elephant's trunk.

9. What does Maile eat now? Anything and everything. She just wants to make sure that what she is eating is what everybody else is eating generally. If someone is eating, she wants to too. Her favorite food right now is cheese.

10. How mature does Maile think she is? Well, let's put it this way, wherever she goes, Maile has to find a computer, ask someone to put her on the chair, pretend she's typing, play with the mouse, and check on the screen to see if it's doing anything. Wherever she goes. No exaggeration.

That's some Maile information from now as far as a quick update. I'm sure that I'll blink again and next thing you know, she's going to school.
