It is often said that music makes the world go round. Well, in the case of Maile, our beloved 15-month old, music makes her loud.A happy loud though.
Among the many songs that she likes to sing and dance to, there is one in particular that she likes to join in on the chorus: "Kids of the Future" by the Jonas Brothers.
She sings along with the music and joins the chorus, which goes like this:
We're the kids of the future. (Maile: "whoa")
We're the kids of the future. (Maile: "whoa")
Everybody live 'cause the future is now. (Maile: "na, na, na, na, na")
Sings the parts along with and just like the Jonas Brothers.
It's not just the pop sounds of the Jonas Brothers that she likes, she also likes to play the drums. She likes to bang on the drumsets that her Ninong left at our house to use. When she's not in the basement playing that, she is upstairs holding her drumsticks and banging the carpet, floor, cutting boards, sofa, book, and even an empty five-gallon jug. She also likes to grab her toy tambourine and hit on the side of her leg like a true professional.
Then we went to a marching band show this weekend to watch Mindy's cousin's band play. Maile decides that she wants to start conducting, and bounces both hands up and down as such, just like she's conducting the band. She does the same thing at church when the music is playing.
Unsure of her future, I asked Maile if she wanted to be a Jonas Brother, a drummer, or a composer, and she replied ever so clearly: "Umm, I dunno."
