Bedtime stories

We have just put Maile down into her bed for her fourth night to sleep in it and it's been successful thus far. She actually seems to enjoy it, where she likes to go on it during the day, she seems anxious to go to bed at night, and for the most part sleeps better.

I remember telling myself when I went to sleep that night to stay aware for if she falls. She slept pretty well for the most part. At 5:41 a.m., I woke up to a thump. I went to her room and realized that she fell off the bed, all 8 inches high or so. She seemed perfectly content though where she was half asleep with her butt in the air as she stayed laying on the ground. She did notice that I entered so I put her back into her bed, put my arms around her, let her fall asleep before I snuck back to my own bed.

The second night was adorable where we heard her wake up sometime before midnight. We heard her whimper and hit the door. Mindy and I both got up and started walking to her room, only to find that she was already walking to our room carrying her giraffe and blanket, saying "mommy and daddy". It was so sweet to see her cry at night, took herself out of bed, and walked to our room to look for us.

It's fun to see how quickly adjusts to things--the different houses she goes to, the different people she's around, being in public places, and now to a new bed.
